| Our Mission:
The Indiana Immunization Coalition exists to reduce the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases through immunization education, advocacy, promotion, and statewide partnerships.
The IIC is currently expanding it's mission to include immunization promotion across the entire lifespan.
Our Role:
The Indiana Immunization Coalition (IIC) is a volunteer organization
which represents 165 agencies from many different disciplines that are
concerned about the immunization of children. While there are many
reasons why children don't receive immunizations according to the
recommended schedule, coalitions such as this evaluate possible
initiatives and select those that have the biggest impact on the issue.
IIC believes that our process needs to be dynamic so we can focus on
initiatives that are measurable, achievable and have a significant
impact on immunization coverage rates.
Goals For 2010:
- Support Efforts to improve Indiana's capacity to provide accessible and affordable immunizations to Indiana's children by identifying access and immunization barriers in the state of Indiana collaboration.
- Encourage increased vaccination rates through education and promotion of immunization Best Practices by educating IIC Members and increasing membership rates and participation at IIC meetings.
- Promote use of immunization registry in Indiana by increasing CHIRP education and use of the reminder recall tool available in CHIRP.

It is very important that IIC represent all areas of Indiana, not
just the major cities. Our ultimate goal is that each county in Indiana
be represented on the coalition. Many of our members are unable to
attend every meeting but stay in touch with our work through meeting
minutes and other methods of communication.
IIC is a volunteer organization. Anyone interested in immunizing
children in Indiana is welcome to join the coalition.
To be included, we just need information on how to contact you. Once
on the e-mail list, you will receive notices of upcoming meetings and
timely information on immunization issues.
